Real sod

From $1.75–$2.75 per square foot installed, including ground prep, soil amendment, and rolled sod suited to our climate. We'll tell you straight if the spot you're picturing (full-sun south wall, no shade) is a place grass goes to die.

Artificial turf

From $9–$14 per square foot installed — and installation quality is the entire product. Proper excavation, compacted base, drainage, seams, and infill are the difference between turf that looks flawless for 15 years and turf that ripples in two summers. Zero water, zero mowing, green in February. Popular for dog runs, courtyards, and putting greens.
